Austrian Alps Wedding Photography – Zell am See

Winter Adventure Wedding

If you need your photographer to snowboard down a mountain with you while you’re in all your wedding gear, I’m your girl. This wedding was so much fun. I’m calling it an adventure wedding because a) How many weddings do you get to go to that start in a small Austrian hall (at 10am), then b) transport all the guests to the top of a mountain for lunch and a party, and c) only to all ski/snowboard down for dinner and the after party. It was organised to perfection. It was an adventure wedding.

Zell am See

Mike and Shula come to this ski resort, Zell am See, a few times a year. The area has plenty of terrain, but doesn’t have that big resort feel to it that you get other places in the Alps. We came out for the whole week, as we hadn’t snowboarded in a couple years and wanted to make the most of it. We fell in love with the area. Down in the town there’s a gorgeous lake, and we were impressed that even towards the end of March we could ride from the top, all the way into Zell. One day we took a quick shuttle over the glacier, Kaprun, and had a beautiful powder day.

The Wedding – Hotel Heitzmann

I love that these guys made it a week long affair. We got so much time up on the mountain, and had the most beautiful sunny day on the wedding day itself. In the evening we headed back to the Hotel Heitzmann for a superb dinner. (We actually booked our entire stay at this hotel which included our dinner every night, and it was the best food ever. Not a buffet, but a sit down 4 course meal with allowances for vegetarian and pescatarian.) The evening entertainment was an amazing band, The Side Project.

Way to go guys. You truly organised the perfect week, and wedding day.

No Itinerary :: Europe via Polaroid
But in the stillness of the moment it takes for a polaroid picture To capture our faces forever, The world has turned a touch on its axis, and the only thing certain Is everything changes. -Frank Turner "Polaroid Picture"Those lyrics and the album that they come from was the soundtrack to our 4 month road trip. It's seems a bit mocking, that those words are swirling around in my head today as I sit on the 36th floor of an apartment in China. How quickly everything changes. Looking through these polaroids from our summer, that time now feels really far away. Those carefree summer days are quite the contrast to now, planning our next ...

Autumn New Forest Engagement Photography
You wouldn't know it by looking at these photos, but this shoot nearly got rained out. The day before is when we'd originally scheduled it, and it poured rain from dawn to dusk. We quickly scheduled it for the following day and managed to capture that sweet autumnal glow.I love setting up for engagement shoots. Scouting unique locations is my specialty, and in this area there is no shortage of magnificent backdrops. A broken wall, or a glimmering tree line can completely transform a photograph from your usual portrait into vibrant scene.Meg and Matt were good sports about trekking through forest and fields as well as hopping over a fe ...

There aren't too many words that can describe how beautiful this day was. I was so honored to be a part of it and to share in Mel and Drew's happiness. To photograph the girl I grew up next door to marrying an awesome guy, was really amazing. Everything went perfect, and so much of it was the product of love, family and friends. Thank you guys for bringing me there.
