Summer Wedding in Stockholm

Being able to use my camera and photograph new places and spaces is one of the biggest joys in this profession. Every time I visit a new place, I find these subtle little beauties, and I wish I had my camera on hand. I normally settle for an iPhone shot and post it up on Instagram with a chic filter and call it good. But when I get to travel for a wedding, camera in hand, it’s one of the most rewarding times in my job. This Stockholm wedding is no different.

The Wedding

The day was filled with so many sweet little traditions and details. Alexis and Magnus clearly spent so much time refining it all and creating a day that truly reflected who they are and their love as a couple.

Alexis is my cousin, and back in 2013, my husband and I went on the most epic road trip for 4 months during the summer. The last stop on our itinerary, before heading back to the UK, was Stockholm to visit these two. Right before we arrived Magnus proposed to Alexis and I did their engagement photos for them. I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding day, as Stockholm is such an amazing city.

Villa Källhagen

They were married at Villa Källhagen, a stunning location, just a quick stroll from the city centre. The setting is right on the water, and you would never guess that you were almost central in a big city. The gardens surrounding the hotel made the perfect setting for some natural shots, and the interior of the hotel was detailed and chic.

Shortly after this Stockholm wedding, I realised that my destination wedding portfolio is quite substantial. I love traveling and if I can do it and document a wedding day at the same time then I’m doubly thrilled. If you’re planning a wedding outside of the UK, get in touch with me. If you give me the chance to capture your day I will work my ass off and deliver gorgeous photos for you.

Trust. From start to finish, Lauren and Jim trusted me, which is completely invaluable. They didn't worry about what I was doing or making sure I got the right shot. They relaxed and let me take care it. There is nothing more I can ask for from couples because given that trust I can create what I'm there to do.A beautiful couple that I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to. When I'm with a couple from the start and I get to know them, photograph their Engagement Session and then the Big Day, it gets hard to finish up their photos and finally blog their wedding. I'm just a bit sentimental that way I guess.I wish them all the best.Se ...

Love Shoot – The New Forest
"What on earth is a Love Shoot?" my husband asked me... Well it's when a couple want to have photos done of themselves, just the two of them, for no other reason other than they want to do it. Maybe they're married and they have kids who generally take centre stage in everything, including photos. Or maybe they're not married, but they're tired of the same old selfie pose they have of the two of them together (you know the one, sitting in the car with big cheesy smiles). A Love Shoot is basically an engagement shoot without the responsibility of having to be engaged. It's a day away from everything and spending time with just your love, and h ...

Stockholm Engagement Photography – Alexis and Magnus
Wow, I'm a bit embarrassed. I have probably sat down to start a blog, a dozen time since my last post. Even now as I write this, I'm wondering if it will actually make it to being published and killing my 3 months of silence in this space. I'll try to rationalize it in another post, this one is meant for much greater things. The last stop on our European road-trip was Sweden. I am in love with Sweden. Such a beautiful and amazing place, and I'm lucky enough to have a cousin who lives in Stockholm with her fiancé. Let me just say, exploring a new city while doing an engagement session, has to be one of the best ways to see it. (Remember thi ...
