Love Shoot – The New Forest

Engagement

“What on earth is a Love Shoot?” my husband asked me… Well it’s when a couple want to have photos done of themselves, just the two of them, for no other reason other than they want to do it. Maybe they’re married and they have kids who generally take centre stage in everything, including photos. Or maybe they’re not married, but they’re tired of the same old selfie pose they have of the two of them together (you know the one, sitting in the car with big cheesy smiles). A Love Shoot is basically an engagement shoot without the responsibility of having to be engaged. It’s a day away from everything and spending time with just your love, and having beautiful shots of it all.

I hosted a Love Shoot giveaway on my Facebook page a couple months ago, to celebrate reaching 1000 likes (thank you all very much!). Vanessa was the winner. In addition to doing this shoot with me, her and Lee also dined at The Pig hotel courtesy of Ashley Hamilton Photography. So it was truly a day set up for just the two of them.

The Forest was in all it’s glory on this day. Starting at the beach we were greeted by donkeys and cows, basking in the early Autumn sunshine. We then headed into the one of my favourite parts of the Forest, near Brockenhurst. It was my pleasure meeting these two and sharing stories about our similarly aged boys. They are both so easy going, which makes my job as a photographer fun.

You know when you see someone you haven't seen in ages, the conversation just flows and you feel like you'll never get caught up on everything that's happened since the last time you spoke? That's what happened with this girl, because I haven't seen her since.....*yikes* high school? We were next door neighbors growing up, and were always at one another house. Mostly I hung out at her house as I kind of liked her whole family. So when she contacted me to shoot her wedding, I was ecstatic. There's nothing like reconnecting with old pals, and learning what's been happening in their life. But most of all, how cool is it to meet the person they'v ...

Southampton Engagement Photography :: A Proposal
Happy Friday! One week from today and I will be on my way to Europe for 4 months. Today is also the last shoot I'm doing before leaving. It happens to be my favorite kind too. Can you guess? Definitely ending things on a high note. This is a proposal I shot a few weeks back for a friend of mine. Proposal turned mini e-sesh. It was a complete surprise and I was posing like I was just taking a photo of the sunset. Very fun to be a part of. Here is Andrew and Hannah ::

You wouldn't know it by looking at these photos, but this shoot nearly got rained out. The day before is when we'd originally scheduled it, and it poured rain from dawn to dusk. We quickly scheduled it for the following day and managed to capture that sweet autumnal glow.I love setting up for engagement shoots. Scouting unique locations is my specialty, and in this area there is no shortage of magnificent backdrops. A broken wall, or a glimmering tree line can completely transform a photograph from your usual portrait into vibrant scene.Meg and Matt were good sports about trekking through forest and fields as well as hopping over a fe ...
