Colorado Mountain Wedding :: Holly+Adam in Colorado

destination Feature wedding

Who could resist a reception with the Colorado mountains as the backdrop? I couldn’t, nor would I when one of my best friends told me that’s where she was having it.

This girl has come to visit Eliot and I in almost every place we’ve lived (not the UK, yet…*hint, hint* Hol). She has an adventurous spirit, and it makes me so happy to see her with someone who’s ideals match hers perfectly.

I’ve known Holly since we were in high school and she’s always been way cooler than me. She was friends with pretty much everyone, girls and guys, and has always had an infectious personality that people just want to be around. She always brings the party (and the water bottle of vodka). She’s also the type of girl who keeps her head on straight, and doesn’t make emotional decisions. It’s always well thought out and carefully considered.

She told me about Adam when she came to visit us out in China, and just by the way she was talking about him, I could tell he was way different than anyone else. She wasn’t going on and on about the flowers and the hearts, it was more about what plans and goals they had made, and what steps they were taking to achieve them, that I knew things were more serious with Adam. It wasn’t gushing about how she knew she was going to marry this guy (that didn’t even come up), but more an acknowledgment that she’d met a partner who shared the same dreams she did. It was effortless and natural.

The only thing I ever want for my girlfriends is to see them happy in life. Holly has always been happy and I’ve never worried about her. But seeing her with Adam up in Colorado revealed an extra sparkle to a girl I didn’t think could possibly shine anymore.

Here’s a couple highlights from the reception in Colorado.

I’ve love traveling for weddings, and would love to come to yours. If you’re planning a destination wedding, let me know.

Xiamen China Engagement Photography – Diana and Sam
Pre wedding sessions. Awesome locations. Lovely couple. And funky architecture.Sam and Di are good friends who's wedding we celebrated the night before we left China to move here. A gorgeous Hong Kong wedding. But of course, we took some engagement photos a few months beforehand. This was a little mini-sesh, we got together early one morning and explored the area around our city, Xiamen. Since being in Xiamen, whenever we would walk down to the park near the waterfront, we would go under the overpass with all the vines crawling up it, in a very 'life after people' kind of way. I've always wanted to put a couple in a frame there.

Austrian Alps Wedding Photography – Zell am See
Winter Adventure Wedding If you need your photographer to snowboard down a mountain with you while you're in all your wedding gear, I'm your girl. This wedding was so much fun. I'm calling it an adventure wedding because a) How many weddings do you get to go to that start in a small Austrian hall (at 10am), then b) transport all the guests to the top of a mountain for lunch and a party, and c) only to all ski/snowboard down for dinner and the after party. It was organised to perfection. It was an adventure wedding. Zell am See Mike and Shula come to this ski resort, Zell am See, a few times a year. The area has plenty of terrain, but doesn ...

Wedding at Cowdray Ruins and The Walled Garden
The Couple I met Meg and Matt at a pub, about a year before their wedding at the Walled Garden at Cowdray. We chatted over a pint and they were so easy going. During our meeting we ended up talking and discussing about 100 other things apart from their wedding. Following our initial meetup, a couple months later, I shot their engagement session here in the forest. During their shoot, I asked them how they felt about jumping a fence and venturing into a field to get potentially a great shot, and they didn't even hesitate. There is not enough I can say about these two. As with all wedding, you really get to know a couple when you celebrate ...
