So I was in my home town last month. It’s up in the beautiful pacific north west, and I try to take advantage of as much as I can while I’m there (we just don’t have trees like this in Florida). I asked my little sister if she wanted to go for a walk with me. We had quite a few uncharacteristically sunny days while I was up there. It was so beautiful, but the days were so short. It felt like the sun had just managed to get up into the sky and it was setting again. Regardless I was spoiled.

Here’s my little sister. She has an adventurous spirit and is about to embark on another one. When I look at these photos, especially the close ups I see my older brother. I’m not sure how I turned out so different (I always suspected I was adopted, but too many people tell me I look like my mom, and that I’m just like my dad). As we get older though, I find we have more and more in common.

Here’s Char ::

Yes, I even talked her into doing some jumping photos.

How many families do you know that want to have their water fight photographed after they take their "nice" photos? I had such a blast with this super photogenic and lovely family. Kelly and I have been meeting on Monday morning for the past few months, for what I like to call "punishing Ashley." She's a personal trainer and an amazing inspiration. I always leave our sessions feeling uplifted and with a new appreciation for my body. I just wish she could count better ;-) I loved getting to meet her fiance, Phil, and their combined families. Each of the 4 kids has something a little different to bring to the table in terms of personality and q ...

Springhill House Wedding Photography – Worcestershire
The Day This wedding was so beautiful. I knew it would be. From the moment we got the news that Em and John had gotten engaged, I couldn't picture anything but a spectacular day for them. From what I knew and had heard about Emily, she doesn't do anything half fast. So when she wrote to me, asking if I might possibly photograph it for them, I was thrilled (almost like being asked to shoot the royal wedding thrilled). When these two came out for our wedding in January they spent the whole week up on the mountain with us. I was a bit worried that Emily might change her mind about wanting me to photograph their wedding, because well, I didn't e ...

Have you heard of the six degrees of separation thing? The idea that everyone in the world is separated by only six people. Well Xan and I discovered this to be true on a couple different levels. It blew my mind a little bit.Also blowing my mind these days is film. I've been experimenting a bit with it, like I said in my last post, I'm in love. Best impulse buy EVER. I brought my medium format camera out on this shoot, just to see what would happen.I've mixed them all up below, but you can tell which are film. This is not instagram folks. The film images below are straight out of camera, I didn't do any additional editing to any of th ...
