Southampton Engagement Photographer – Sarah and Max

Engagement

It’s so easy to get caught up in the planning of the wedding and start to lose sight of the real importance and reason for it: Because you want to be together, for the rest of your lives. Everything else about the day should take a back seat to that number one reason. For these two, it took a way back seat. Actually, those things didn’t even exist when they got married. It wasn’t about the big celebration and gathering of family and friends, it was just about being together. Fast forward to now, and they’ve decided to have a little celebration in honor of the vows they took several years ago.

We got together on an early morning to get to know each other a bit more, get them used to being in front of my camera and do a little engagement-ish session. It also doubled as a family session with their two children, er, I mean pups.

Love Shoot – The New Forest
"What on earth is a Love Shoot?" my husband asked me... Well it's when a couple want to have photos done of themselves, just the two of them, for no other reason other than they want to do it. Xiamen China Engagement Photography – Diana and Sam
Pre wedding sessions. Awesome locations. Lovely couple. And funky architecture.Sam and Di are good friends who's wedding we celebrated the night before we left China to move here. A gorgeous Hong Kong wedding. But of course, we took some engagement photos a few months beforehand. This was a little mini-sesh, we got together early one morning and explored the area around our city, Xiamen. Since being in Xiamen, whenever we would walk down to the park near the waterfront, we would go under the overpass with all the vines crawling up it, in a very 'life after people' kind of way. I've always wanted to put a couple in a frame there.

Southampton Engagement Photography – Kevin and Jess
This couple strikes a personal cord, because well, Kevin and Jess are good friends. I've known Kevin as long as I've known Eliot, and he even came all the way out to Oregon for our wedding. Jess is his beautiful fiance, and they met while working together on super yachts (yes the big ones, and no, not cruise ships). I was giddy when they called and asked me to do their engagement photos. It's exciting to have a little part in someones wedding experience, especially when they're good friends. They came from the east coast of Florida to spend the weekend, we'd love for them to move to the west coast. We spent an afternoon getting these:...
