Southampton Engagement Photographer – Mike and Sue

Engagement

So a while back I was taking a Portrait Photography class and was in desperate need for some models to pose for me. It was a very “traditional portrait” studio class (nothing like what I ever wanted to do or do now, but nevertheless a good learning experience). Mike and Sue graciously agreed to help me out and sit for me while I took awkward, overly posed photos of them (“yes, it’s very important you tilt your head exactly that way, otherwise I might fail” kind of stuff). As you can imagine, those photos never and will never surface on the web. It’s to protect all three of us, I promise.

But I was really happy when got engaged and asked me to take their engagement photos. It gave me the opportunity to show them what I was really capable of. All these photos were actually taken in my little neighborhood, so it’s a good look into Ozona as well.

It's so easy to get caught up in the planning of the wedding and start to lose sight of the real importance and reason for it: Because you want to be together, for the rest of your lives. Everything else about the day should take a back seat to that number one reason. For these two, it took a way back seat. Actually, those things didn't even exist when they got married. Fast forward to now, and they've decided to have a little celebration in honor of the vows they took several years ago.We got together on an early morning to get to k ...

New Forest Engagement Photography – Bluebell Season in Hampshire
Engagement Photography in the New Forest The New Forest is always impressing me with every change of season. It's a photographer's dreams to live in such a unique area. In May we are spoiled with the blooming of Bluebells which can create the most beautiful scene for doing spring Engagement photos. You don't have to venture far to find bluebells, but if you want to find fields of them, like this, you need to have a bit of local knowledge and some pre scouting. It was about a 20 minute walk from where we parked to arriving at the area where these photos were taken. There was some people around, but hardly any when you consider it was a hot an ...

Stockholm Engagement Photography – Alexis and Magnus
Wow, I'm a bit embarrassed. I have probably sat down to start a blog, a dozen time since my last post. Even now as I write this, I'm wondering if it will actually make it to being published and killing my 3 months of silence in this space. I'll try to rationalize it in another post, this one is meant for much greater things. The last stop on our European road-trip was Sweden. I am in love with Sweden. Such a beautiful and amazing place, and I'm lucky enough to have a cousin who lives in Stockholm with her fiancé. Let me just say, exploring a new city while doing an engagement session, has to be one of the best ways to see it. (Remember thi ...
