Into the Instant Film World
This is the newest addition to my film camera collection, a Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera. If I could describe it one word? TEMPERAMENTAL. Everything about this is completely unpredictable, and sometimes painful to experience (as in watching money burn painful). Being a product of the 70s, not everything works perfectly all the time. Sometimes the mirror sticks up and overexposes a photo. Sometimes it doesn't meter correctly and underexposes it. So I was in my home town last month. It's up in the beautiful pacific north west, and I try to take advantage of as much as I can while I'm there (we just don't have trees like this in Florida). I asked my little sister if she wanted to go for a walk with me. We had quite a few uncharacteristically sunny days while I was up there. It was so beautiful, but the days were so short. It felt like the sun had just managed to get up into the sky and it was setting again. Regardless I was spoiled.

Southampton Portrait Photography :: The Cox Family
I love having them in front of my camera every time. Marissa (the mom) is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and has such a good heart. Getting to know her through taking their family photos, has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a photographer. Having a connection to someone makes it all so much sweeter.
