I met Meg and Matt at a pub, about a year before their wedding at the Walled Garden at Cowdray. We chatted over a pint and they were so easy going. During our meeting we ended up talking and discussing about 100 other things apart from their wedding. Following our initial meetup, a couple months later, I shot their engagement session here in the forest. During their shoot, I asked them how they felt about jumping a fence and venturing into a field to get potentially a great shot, and they didn’t even hesitate.
There is not enough I can say about these two. As with all wedding, you really get to know a couple when you celebrate their wedding day with them and hear the stories told by their friends and family. This is a shining example of an amazing and committed couple, and I feel so fortunate to have photographed their day for them. Meg is outgoing and has the most radiant smile and amazing stye. Matt is quieter, but super funny and personable when you start chatting to him. Together they created this lovely day with so many personal details and a literary vain running through it all. Meg made the button holes for the guys from a music book, because Matt loves music. Matt gifted his groomsmen Avengers cuff links.
The entire day, from start to finish was beautiful. Meg was getting ready with her girlfriends and bridesman, and was completely relaxed. I don’t think anything could have stressed her out.
For their couple photos we nearly got rained out. But even while it was pouring Meg and Matt were committed to getting some great shots in the ruins. We ventured out with umbrellas that weren’t needed in the end as the clouds broke, and the sun came through. A bit of rain+sunshine made for some awesome shots.
Here’s their gorgeous wedding at the Walled garden at Cowdray.
