Stockholm Wedding

Engagement photography portraits wedding

Being able to use my camera and photograph new places and spaces is one of the biggest joys in this profession. Every time I visit a new place, I find these subtle little beauties, and I wish I had my camera on hand. I normally settle for an iPhone shot and post it up on Instagram with a chic filter and call it good. But when I get to travel for a wedding, camera in hand, it’s one of the most rewarding times in my job. This Stockholm wedding is no different.

The day was filled with so many sweet little traditions and details. Alexis and Magnus clearly spent so much time refining it all and creating a day that truly reflected who they are and their love as a couple.

Alexis is my cousin, and back in 2013, my husband and I went on the most epic road trip for 4 months during the summer. The last stop on our itinerary, before heading back to the UK, was Stockholm to visit these two. Right before we arrived Magnus proposed to Alexis and I did their engagement photos for them. I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding day, as Stockholm is such an amazing city. They were married at Villa Källhagen, a stunning location, just a quick stroll from the main city.

Shortly after this Stockholm wedding, I realised that my destination wedding portfolio is quite substantial. I love traveling and if I can do it and document a wedding day at the same time then I’m doubly thrilled. If you’re planning a wedding outside of the UK, get in touch with me. If you give me the chance to capture your day I will work my ass off and deliver gorgeous photos for you.

Being a Control Freak
I'm enjoying my morning coffee right now.  When it comes to my coffee I'm pretty ritualistic. I keep the metal pitcher in the fridge, so its cold and makes the steaming that much easier. I always use a thermometer to steam the milk to the exact temperature I want it (so it doesn't go cold too fast).  I have to have velvety smooth, frothy foam on top (keeps the coffee hotter, longer).  And my shots have to measured perfectly every time (so my coffee always tastes the same). Some call it being a perfectionist, but I think that's just a nice way of saying "being a control freak". (Also, when it comes to coffee I like to blame my PacNW roots. It' ...

Happy Holidays
I'm not going to lie, Christmas has kind of taken a back seat this year to other things that are going on. But I still love this time of year and knowing that there is going to be a respite, from work and other things, to spend with family and friends. I like taking part in our local community's holiday activities that bring people together and I love finding little treasures for people to open on Christmas day. Favorite gift I found this year were these little stamp sets for my niece and Eliot's god-daughter. I also really love when I get to reconnect with people who's photos I've taken in the past. One of the biggest compliments is getti ...
