Love Shoot – The New Forest

couples Engagement lifestyle portraits

“What on earth is a Love Shoot?” my husband asked me… Well it’s when a couple want to have photos done of themselves, just the two of them, for no other reason other than they want to do it. Maybe they’re married and they have kids who generally take centre stage in everything, including photos. Or maybe they’re not married, but they’re tired of the same old selfie pose they have of the two of them together (you know the one, sitting in the car with big cheesy smiles). A Love Shoot is basically an engagement shoot without the responsibility of having to be engaged. It’s a day away from everything and spending time with just your love, and having beautiful shots of it all.

I hosted a Love Shoot giveaway on my Facebook page a couple months ago, to celebrate reaching 1000 likes (thank you all very much!). Vanessa was the winner. In addition to doing this shoot with me, her and Lee also dined at The Pig hotel courtesy of Ashley Hamilton Photography. So it was truly a day set up for just the two of them.

The Forest was in all it’s glory on this day. Starting at the beach we were greeted by donkeys and cows, basking in the early Autumn sunshine. We then headed into the one of my favourite parts of the Forest, near Brockenhurst. It was my pleasure meeting these two and sharing stories about our similarly aged boys. They are both so easy going, which makes my job as a photographer fun.

If you are a frequent visitor here, you've definitely seen this girl before. She's graced this blog in the past with her awesomeness.  You might even see her photo in the top header, still one of my favorite shoots of all time.  If ever I have a new idea for a shoot I want to do, she's the girl I call.  She's sweet, fun, GORGEOUS and a natural in front of the camera.  Since I've been doing some playing around in the studio, I knew I had to get her in and under the bright lights. Here's Shannon. Also photo related: I shot a BEAUTIFUL wedding this weekend. I can't wait to open it up and start editing it.  Maybe I'll be able to show a ...

Southampton Wedding Photography :: Brian and Brittany
Funnest. Couple. Ever. Loved being a part of Brittany and Brian's day.  When I first met these two our conversation mainly consisted of all the great breweries up in the NorthWest. They spent a year living up in Portland after graduating from university.  Brittany is so laid back, when I arrived at her Maid of Honor's house to start capturing them getting ready, her bridesmaids were giving her a hard time for painting her own nails.  Her biggest worry throughout the whole day was that when we went outside to take some shots of just the two of them, she was going to miss the DJ playing The Twist. Brian is equally carefree and easily distrac ...

Southampton Wedding Photography :: Emily and John
This wedding was so beautiful. I knew it would be. From the moment we got the news that Em and John had gotten engaged, I couldn't picture anything but a spectacular day for them. From what I knew and had heard about Emily, she doesn't do anything half fast. So when she wrote to me, asking if I might possibly photograph it for them, I was thrilled (almost like being asked to shoot the royal wedding thrilled). When these two came out for our wedding in January they spent the whole week up on the mountain with us. I was a bit worried that Emily might change her mind about wanting me to photograph their wedding, because well, I didn't exactly ha ...
