Love Shoot – The New Forest

couples Engagement lifestyle portraits

“What on earth is a Love Shoot?” my husband asked me… Well it’s when a couple want to have photos done of themselves, just the two of them, for no other reason other than they want to do it. Maybe they’re married and they have kids who generally take centre stage in everything, including photos. Or maybe they’re not married, but they’re tired of the same old selfie pose they have of the two of them together (you know the one, sitting in the car with big cheesy smiles). A Love Shoot is basically an engagement shoot without the responsibility of having to be engaged. It’s a day away from everything and spending time with just your love, and having beautiful shots of it all.

I hosted a Love Shoot giveaway on my Facebook page a couple months ago, to celebrate reaching 1000 likes (thank you all very much!). Vanessa was the winner. In addition to doing this shoot with me, her and Lee also dined at The Pig hotel courtesy of Ashley Hamilton Photography. So it was truly a day set up for just the two of them.

The Forest was in all it’s glory on this day. Starting at the beach we were greeted by donkeys and cows, basking in the early Autumn sunshine. We then headed into the one of my favourite parts of the Forest, near Brockenhurst. It was my pleasure meeting these two and sharing stories about our similarly aged boys. They are both so easy going, which makes my job as a photographer fun.

We are just enjoying being on holiday, just the two of us, and getting ready for a week of fun with good friends and our families. There's lots to do, but we're getting it done and everything is coming together. With the new year brings lots of new things: New resolutions, new goals, new places, new marriage, new experiences and for this soon to be mama..... A new baby. This shoot ranks up there with being one of my favorites. I love how the images turned ...

I'm not going to write a big post about it, but just let the photos speak for themselv ...

A First Look
I couldn't resist.  I'm nowhere close to finishing editing these, but I feel like these images deserve a post all to themselves.  The first look.  It can be so special and so emotionally charged, that a lot of couples have now opted to have their "first look" before they are standing in front of all their families and friends.  And I get it.  It's such an intimate moment (people around or not), but I think for a lot of couples, it's that one moment when it hits you.  All the planning is done, the cake is on the table, the guests are arriving, the dress is ordered, paid for and altered, and all that planning was all for this moment; when you w ...
