New Forest Wedding Photographer :: Holly+Adam in Colorado

couples personal photography wedding

Who could resist a reception with the Colorado mountains as the backdrop? I couldn’t, nor would I when one of my best friends told me that’s where she was having it.

This girl has come to visit Eliot and I in almost every place we’ve lived (not the UK, yet…*hint, hint* Hol). She has an adventurous spirit, and it makes me so happy to see her with someone who’s ideals match hers perfectly.

I’ve known Holly since we were in high school and she’s always been way cooler than me. She was friends with pretty much everyone, girls and guys, and has always had an infectious personality that people just want to be around. She always brings the party (and the water bottle of vodka). She’s also the type of girl who keeps her head on straight, and doesn’t make emotional decisions. It’s always well thought out and carefully considered.

She told me about Adam when she came to visit us out in China, and just by the way she was talking about him, I could tell he was way different than anyone else. She wasn’t going on and on about the flowers and the hearts, it was more about what plans and goals they had made, and what steps they were taking to achieve them, that I knew things were more serious with Adam. It wasn’t gushing about how she knew she was going to marry this guy (that didn’t even come up), but more an acknowledgment that she’d met a partner who shared the same dreams she did. It was effortless and natural.

The only thing I ever want for my girlfriends is to see them happy in life. Holly has always been happy and I’ve never worried about her. But seeing her with Adam up in Colorado revealed an extra sparkle to a girl I didn’t think could possibly shine anymore.

Here’s a couple highlights from the reception in Colorado.

Southampton Wedding Photography :: Lauren and Jim
Trust. From start to finish, Lauren and Jim trusted me, which is completely invaluable. They didn't worry about what I was doing or making sure I got the right shot. They relaxed and let me take care it. There is nothing more I can ask for from couples because given that trust I can create what I'm there to do. A beautiful couple that I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to. When I'm with a couple from the start and I get to know them, photograph their Engagement Session and then the Big Day, it gets hard to finish up their photos and finally blog their wedding. I'm just a bit sentimental that way I guess. I wish them all the best. Se ...

Southampton Wedding Photography :: Melanie and Drew
There aren't too many words that can describe how beautiful this day was. I was so honored to be a part of it and to share in Mel and Drew's happiness. To photograph the girl I grew up next door to marrying an awesome guy, was really amazing. Everything went perfect, and so much of it was the product of love, family and friends. Thank you guys for bringing me there.

The Gettin’ Ready
So it's not THE most important part of the day, but definitely one of the most important parts of a wedding day, is a time that often gets overlooked.  The "Gettin' Ready" part. Whenever I meet with a soon to be bride to chat about photographing her wedding, I always encourage her to have me there as soon as she starts getting ready with her girls. It's such a fun part of the day, but it's also the last time you get to spend quality time with your girls before life as you know it has changed. These are the girls who were there for you when you first got your heart broken, the ones who held your hand through all the ups and downs.  The girl ...
