New Forest Family Photography :: Louise + Nathan + Jocelyn

babies/kids couples family lifestyle portraits

This sweet family happens to our neighbours and friends. We are often given fresh eggs from their chickens. Little Jocelyn was born about 3 weeks before Cavanaugh, and Louise and I have spent many days commiserating celebrating as we navigate new motherhood together. It’s so much easier with friends (and lots of coffee and cake). Being right in the forest is a photographer’s dream, there is an endless choice of whimsical places. These images were taken in the field behind Louise and Nathan’s house, and their fairytale back garden.

twenty-six :: ♥
Twenty-five was so good to me. It happens. These birthday things. Today, more than ever, it feels good to be alive, to celebrate another year. Twenty five tops out right now, as the most epic year yet. I made the best decision I have ever made in my life, and married an incredible person. I got a new name for doing so. We bought a house together, and are in the process of making it a home. Yet, it still seems as though we have one foot out the door (well two if you count both of our one feet). It was a very "traditional portrait" studio class (nothing like what I ever wanted to do or do now, but nevertheless a good learning experience). Mike and Sue graciously agreed to help me out and sit for me while I took awkward, overly posed photos of them ("yes, it's very important you tilt your head exactly that way, otherwise I might fail" kind of stuff). As you can imagine, those photos never and will never surface on the web. It's to protect all three of us, I promise. But I was really happy when got engaged and asked me ...

Deneen and Peter: The Holidays
So you know when you meet a couple and you walk away thinking "wow, those two are so perfect for eachother."  They compliment eachother, they radiate back and forth from one another, and they're so happy together.  This is just another reason I love doing this.  Getting to meet people which such positive energy, who are fun to be around and effortless in front of the camera (despite what Peter may think).  And it makes the shoot more relaxed when you feel like you can really relate to the people in front of your lens. The highlight of the shoot was getting kicked off the little kiddie train because I kept turning around to take photos of t ...
