Christmas 2013 we were lucky enough to spend it in Maui with my family again this year. It turned into being the year of Hawaiian engagements, as we celebrated one of my cousins getting engaged this past summer, and two more got engaged before we left the islands. There was a lot of celebrating. My cousin Aaron is one of the funniest guys you’ve ever met, and his fiance Maria is the sweetest of all ::

I had every intention of blogging two weddings before leaving the states. But some things can't be planned for, and our last two days at home were pretty packed full. Onto the wedding :: This celebration was so intimate and so beautiful. Michelle and Gary have a tight knit family and about 20 of them were there to be a part of their day. Deneen and Peter: The Holidays
So you know when you meet a couple and you walk away thinking "wow, those two are so perfect for eachother."  They compliment eachother, they radiate back and forth from one another, and they're so happy together.  This is just another reason I love doing this.  Getting to meet people which such positive energy, who are fun to be around and effortless in front of the camera (despite what Peter may think).  And it makes the shoot more relaxed when you feel like you can really relate to the people in front of your lens. It's so easy to get caught up in the planning of the wedding and start to lose sight of the real importance and reason for it: Because you want to be together, for the rest of your lives.
