Sister, Sister

family lifestyle personal portraits

So I was in my home town last month. It’s up in the beautiful pacific north west, and I try to take advantage of as much as I can while I’m there (we just don’t have trees like this in Florida). I asked my little sister if she wanted to go for a walk with me. We had quite a few uncharacteristically sunny days while I was up there. It was so beautiful, but the days were so short. It felt like the sun had just managed to get up into the sky and it was setting again. Regardless I was spoiled.

Here’s my little sister. She has an adventurous spirit and is about to embark on another one. When I look at these photos, especially the close ups I see my older brother. I’m not sure how I turned out so different (I always suspected I was adopted, but too many people tell me I look like my mom, and that I’m just like my dad). As we get older though, I find we have more and more in common.

Here’s Char ::

Yes, I even talked her into doing some jumping photos.

You know when you see someone you haven't seen in ages, the conversation just flows and you feel like you'll never get caught up on everything that's happened since the last time you spoke? That's what happened with this girl, because I haven't seen her since.....*yikes* high school? We were next door neighbors growing up, and were always at one another house. Mostly I hung out at her house as I kind of liked her whole family. So when she contacted me to shoot her wedding, I was ecstatic. There's nothing like reconnecting with old pals, and learning what's been happening in their life. But most of all, how cool is it to meet the person they'v ...

Into the Instant Film World
This is the newest addition to my film camera collection, a Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera. If I could describe it one word? TEMPERAMENTAL. Everything about this is completely unpredictable, and sometimes painful to experience (as in watching money burn painful). Being a product of the 70s, not everything works perfectly all the time. Sometimes the mirror sticks up and overexposes a photo. Sometimes it doesn't meter correctly and underexposes it. Also polaroid doesn't make film for them anymore, but there's a company that does called The Impossible Project. They are the best, and only people making film for these. However, the film is al ...

Southampton Bridal Boudoir
Southampton bridal boudoir. Weddings and boudoir completely go hand in hand. They make an amazing gift for your partner. Imagine your groom, receiving a little gift from you on your wedding day, before he sees you. It's a little black book, filled with sexy, flirty, bombshell photos of you. He will be BLOWN away. Just to clarify, Sarah and I went through all these photos together to make sure she was okay with every image I wanted to show. Photos like this can be very private, and I would never show anything that any of my clients were uncomfortable with. I am so lucky and thankful to Sarah for allowing me to share these. Sarah is one o ...
