Summertime :: On Film

creative Film personal

It’s been a week since we got back from our holiday in England. My husband was away from home for 2 months. I took these photos before he left. We had such a lovely time in England, which is a separate post completely, but part of me was really looking forward to getting back home, to our home.

Tea on our porch.

Constant smell of sunscreen.

Sipping cold beers on the boat.

Playing in the sand.

Thinking there isn’t enough wind to sail, but going anyways.

This is what summer looks like in our home in Florida. And although the heat and humidity are intense, somehow we find ways to enjoy it all.

Jamaica Beach Wedding :: Mike & Sara
This wedding was a much welcomed event. After being in China for three months, not photographing any weddings, it was really nice to get back into, and remember why I love doing this. Although it made me miss it in a serious way. Let me just say, it is incredibly humbling when a couple wants me to photograph their wedding so much, that they bring me to the far away place that they're getting married. And yet, a ginormous compliment as well. Travel is in my bones, and if I get the opportunity to be in a new place while photographing what I love, I will always make that a priority, and do anything I can to get there. This lovely affair wa ...

It's seems a bit mocking, that those words are swirling around in my head today as I sit on the 36th floor of an apartment in China. How quickly everything changes. Looking through these polaroids from our summer, that time now feels really far away. Those carefree summer days are quite the contrast to now, planning o ...

Seattle to Portland to Olympia to Seattle to Bellingham to Seattle to Bainbridge Island and back again…
Sheesh! I ODed on wedding planning this past week.  Like right now, I don't even want to think about my wedding for the next month. This is probably why people hire wedding planners (silly us). But we are planning ours from afar, so given the opportunity and 10 days in the NorthWest, it's probably best that I made use of the time I had there to really tackle a huge part of the planning. And I keep asking myself: Is this all really going to come together? I'm almost in tears over what I feel like I have in front of me right now. But amongst all this planning I also got to sit down with our wedding photographer and talk to her about what us, ...
