Southampton Wedding Photography :: Sarah and Max

wedding

I really do have the most amazing couples who find me. Everything about Sarah and Max’s day was beautiful, from the simplicity in the details, down to the people who were a part of it. They were surrounded by so much love and you could tell they felt it. The way Sarah looked when I showed up, I could see she was relaxed and ready to let the day take its course. Everything played out beautifully. Although they’ve been together for years, you wouldn’t know it by how excited they both got about one another. Max has a quiet confidence about him, but every once in a while he’d break out of that and you could see his playful side come through. I loved watching their interactions with one another, and am so grateful I was a part of it all.

Tomorrow I’m getting on a plane to go and see my best friend in Utah, then we are road tripping up to my hometown (Bellingham, WA) for our other best friend’s wedding. No I’m not shooting it, as I am lucky enough to be one her girls who’ll be standing next to her when she marries an awesome guy. I’ll be away for a week, so might not be updating the blog too often. You can bet I’ll have lots of goodies when I return though.

Southampton Wedding Photography :: Kathryn and Eric
My last wedding of 2011 *sigh*. This day was beautiful from start to finish. It can be risky planning a winter wedding, but when you get the right day, it's absolutely worth it. The riskiest days have the sweetest rewards. Eric and Kathryn have the nicest families and everyone made me feel so welcome. When I first arrived, both Kathryn and her mom started asking me about my own wedding and the plans for that. It's so wonderful to make that personal connection with people. Eric and Kathryn were married at Twenty-Eight Twelve in Valrico, FL. It was a beautiful farmhouse and the perfect setting for their style of wedding. Guest were greeted w ...

New Forest Engagement Photography :: Meg+Matt
You wouldn't know it by looking at these photos, but this shoot nearly got rained out. The day before is when we'd originally scheduled it, and it poured rain from dawn to dusk. We quickly scheduled it for the following day and managed to capture that sweet autumnal glow. I love setting up for engagement shoots. Scouting unique locations is my specialty, and in this area there is no shortage of magnificent backdrops. A broken wall, or a glimmering tree line can completely transform a photograph from your usual portrait into vibrant scene. Meg and Matt were good sports about trekking through forest and fields as well as hopping over a fe ...

We all have bad days. I try not to share the bad on this blog, and sometimes I struggle with that, writing things down helps me to work through it, and this has been my spot to do that. So sometimes I overcompensate and share all the highlights, and it seems like things are great all the time. So not the case. A couple weeks after we got back from our wedding, I was having a really shit day. The kind of day where at 10am I thought it might be best if I just went back to bed and to sleep and woke up the next day to start new. I'm not getting into the details, but some things had happened at our wedding, that had nothing to do with Eliot o ...
