Preview: Stunning Bride

portraits wedding

Just a little peek at what I’m editing now.  I shot her wedding this weekend and I am so in love with this image.  I love going through the photos I’ve taken on a certain day and ooooing and ahhhing at what I see.  You just can never tell on that small screen while shooting if it’s going to turn out right or not.  I mean, you kind of get an idea, but inevitably the one you think is the perfect shot turns out to be a little bit blurry and the one that turns out to be ‘the shot’ is sometimes unexpected.  It’s not until the day is over and it’s up on the big screen that I really get to see what was captured during the day.  With new, fresh eyes.

Deneen and Peter: The Holidays
So you know when you meet a couple and you walk away thinking "wow, those two are so perfect for eachother."  They compliment eachother, they radiate back and forth from one another, and they're so happy together.  This is just another reason I love doing this.  Getting to meet people which such positive energy, who are fun to be around and effortless in front of the camera (despite what Peter may think).  And it makes the shoot more relaxed when you feel like you can really relate to the people in front of your lens. The highlight of the shoot was getting kicked off the little kiddie train because I kept turning around to take photos of t ...

It was a very "traditional portrait" studio class (nothing like what I ever wanted to do or do now, but nevertheless a good learning experience). Mike and Sue graciously agreed to help me out and sit for me while I took awkward, overly posed photos of them ("yes, it's very important you tilt your head exactly that way, otherwise I might fail" kind of stuff). As you can imagine, those photos never and will never surface on the web. It's to protect all three of us, I promise. But I was really happy when got engaged and asked me ...

Southampton Engagement Photography :: A Proposal
Happy Friday! One week from today and I will be on my way to Europe for 4 months. Today is also the last shoot I'm doing before leaving. It happens to be my favorite kind too. Can you guess? Definitely ending things on a high note. This is a proposal I shot a few weeks back for a friend of mine. Proposal turned mini e-sesh. It was a complete surprise and I was posing like I was just taking a photo of the sunset. Very fun to be a part of. Here is Andrew and Hannah ::
